Scholarship Program, Kookmin University, Korea

Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea, would like to inform you of an exciting academic opportunity.

 

The scholarship program is designed by the Korean Government in order to support outstanding exchange students who will be coming to Korea for an exchange in the coming fall. 

 

Eligibility

1. Undergraduate exchange students who are nominated by their home university.  (First time nominees only)

2. Grade point of 80% or above (Students should have completed at least 2 semesters at their home university)

3. Students who have not received any kinds of Korean Government Scholarship

4. Student of foreign nationalities (Korean students including those with dual citizenship can not apply)

 

Required Documents

1. Official transcript from home university (Must include a grade point in 100% scale)

2. Statement of purpose (Hand written in Korean or English, 3 pages max.)

   · Do not mention your name or Kookmin University in the SOP

   · Please check attachment file for more detail.

3. Self-introduction (Hand written in Korean or English, 3 pages max.)

   · Include activities at your home university, plans during and after your stay in Korea 

   · Do not mention your name or Kookmin University in the self-introduction

   · Please check attachment file for more detail.

4. Result of Korean or English proficiency test (TOPIK, TOEFL, other)

5. Letter of recommendation, proof of awards/prizes

6. Copy of passport

Scholarship

One-way or round-trip economy class airfare (airfare is fixed amount set by NIIED)

Monthly allowance: 800,000 won (KRW) per month

Medical Insurance: 20,000 won (KRW) per month (limited coverage)

Onetime settlement fee: 200,000 won (KRW) 

 

Application deadline is June 1, 2015
