ADMISSION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA

OF FOREIGN STUDENTS (CPV) – TAX IN FOREIGN CURRENCY

Specific measures taken by the University of Craiova, Romania related to the COVID-19 outbreak

So far, there are no confirmed or possible cases of infected persons in the University of Craiova, nor in the city.

The University of Craiova Administrative Council has decided to suspend all on-site educational and related activities (scientific conferences, student/ school competitions, cultural, artistic and sports events, debates, other public meetings or gatherings, etc.) until March 31st, 2020. From 13 to March 31st, 2020, all teaching activities will be conducted online, through the EvStud or e-learning platforms (Moodle, Google Classroom).

Secondly, all upcoming mobilities at the University of Craiova will be postponed to later dates, when it will be safe for all parties involved to undertake the exchanges agreed upon so we would really appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Moreover, all incoming and outgoing international exchanges are suspended at our university until March 31st, 2020 and this deadline could change depending on how things evolve.

As far as the mobilities that are currently being undertaken at our university, we would like to assure you that we will not ask the students to return to their home countries and end their mobilities. In fact, we will advise the students to stay inside their rooms and avoid any domestic or international trips that could result in an increase of the number of persons infected or a spread of the virus. All incoming students at the University of Craiova who are currently undertaking mobilities will be allowed to continue their mobility unless their home universities or their families decide otherwise. However, students will not be allowed to return to their home countries and then come back to UCv in a few weeks’ time.

The students who decide to terminate their mobilities earlier than scheduled will receive the necessary documents later on, when we will return to our normal activity, so we would appreciate your understanding in this matter.

The students who decide to continue their mobilities at UCv will be allowed to use the university hostels and will remain accommodated there, as long as they comply with the hygiene protocols decided upon by the university management and national authorities. They will not be allowed to return to their rooms if they travel through the country or abroad, in spite all warnings.

All university spaces will be constantly and properly cleaned and disinfected.

The students will no longer have access to the university common spaces (classrooms, libraries, administrative offices, canteens, sport halls etc.). No foreign persons, students’ families included, will be allowed to enter the university hostels or common spaces.  In order to improve safety measures, the number of security agents will be increased.

Our International Relations Office and administrative departments will be open according to the regular working hours but without any public contact until further notice. Please know that our university is taking all necessary measures in order to insure the safety of our students and each case will be treated in a particular way.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail or phone.
