Department of Relationship with the Economic, Social and Cultural Environment
Overview
The University of Craiova supports further increase of investment in human resources and social inclusion through mapping the educational offer to the sustainable development requirements, from a threefold perspective: economic growth, social development and environment conservation. The priorities set by the business environment trigger the transfer of knowledge to be converted in products and services. The University is no longer an isolated entity generating knowledge, it closely interacts with the social and business environment of whose needs and interests it is fully aware. The University of Craiova aims to contribute to the fast and efficient transition to an innovation and knowledge-based economy, at the same time participative and inclusive, through the change from a consultative partnership to a collaborative and enduring one, directly impacting on the employers that need motivated, multiskilled staff, and on the academic environment that should meet the European standards.
The Department of Relationship with the Economic, Social and Cultural Environment(DR-MESC) undertakes to monitor the relationships with the economic, social and cultural environment at the level of the University, in cooperation with the faculties.
DR-MESC promotes research programmes to meet the market demands for new technologies, re-structuring and modernisation; identifies the employers’ needs for staff training, technical assistance, legal advice, etc.; identifies economic agents from abroad, interested in cooperating with the University; monitors the mapping of the graduates’ competences to the market demands; promotes job opportunities; identifies cooperation at the local, regional and national level; establishes cooperation with similar departments in country and from abroad.
Objectives
- To ensure the interface between the University of Craiova and the social and business environment by promoting research programmes to meet the market demands for new technologies, re-structuring and modernisation;
- To ensure the framework of implementation of the training activities, technical assistance, consulting, etc. by promoting the University’s offer to the socio-economic and cultural environment, and by identifying the needs/expectations of these stakeholders, and mapping the needs to the University’s offer;
- To promote training of trainers modules in different fields, upon request;
- To identify the employers’ needs for staff training;
- To promote customised internship so as to draw up projects/graduation and dissertation papers, based on research topics selected together with representatives of the socio-economic and cultural environment;
- To secure the partnership between the University of Craiova and socio-economic and cultural environment so as to support internships in country and abroad and apply ECTS.
