Eugen Ionescu Grants

 

Since the year 2007, the Romanian Government has given graduates and researchers from member countries of the Francophone University Agency grants for doctoral and postdoctoral research positions lasting from three to six months, depending on the extent of the research and training that takes place in one of the 26 higher education institutions in Romania entered the programme.

The scholarships are granted under the aegis of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) organizing selection procedures for candidates and monitoring the use and management of funds allocated to scholarships.

Who can participate?

This competition is open to PhD students, teachers and researchers from higher education institutions members of the Francophone University Agency from the countries of the International Francophone Organization (OIF), priority being given to citizens of countries of the South. Applications must address scientific areas considered priorities for the development of the countries of origin and be consistent with the concerns of research institutions of destination. The selection criteria take into account the scientific quality of the projects and application opportunities for development of the regions of origin and destination.

How do I enroll?

The candidates must obtain the consent of the university where they want to complete an internship prior to submission of the application file. In this regard they should contact directly the responsible for these grants from the university concerned by sending a letter of motivation accompnied, according to the type of grant, by a set of documents which include, among others, the research project, a curriculum vitae and a copy of the degree of the highest degree obtained in the field.

The University of Craiova is among the 26 Romanian universities selected to participate in the programme. The University of Craiova accepts Eugen Ionescu grants students through the programme in areas such as:

  • Linguistics and Literature
  • Law and Administrative Sciences
  • Informatics
  • Sociology
  • Physics
